Welcome to SCV Food Truck Finder |
Good food in the Santa Clarita Valley doesn't always stay in one place. Now it has one place to find it.
Welcome to the first issue of SCV Food Truck Finder, a free weekly guide to the trucks serving Valencia, Saugus, Newhall, Canyon Country, Stevenson Ranch and Castaic. Every Wednesday, we'll tell you where trucks are scheduled to park, which truck nights and markets are running, and which local trucks deserve a try.
This week: a food truck every night at a Valencia taproom, two farmers markets, the sushi truck that grew into a Saugus restaurant, and how truck owners can get listed for free. |

THIS WEEK'S LINEUP: A TRUCK EVERY NIGHT IN VALENCIA |
Lucky Luke Brewing's Santa Clarita taproom posts a food truck schedule for every night of the week. It's the easiest truck stop in the valley to plan around. The taproom is at 25108 Rye Canyon Loop, Santa Clarita.
Wed, Oct. 21: S&L Streetdogs, 5–9 p.m.
Looking ahead: Bomb Burger is back Friday, Oct. 30, and the taproom closes early on Halloween, with S&L Streetdogs serving 1–7 p.m.
Schedules come from the taproom's posted calendar and can change. Check Lucky Luke's Santa Clarita events page before you go. The taproom serves beer, so check its age policy if you're bringing kids. |
MARKETS RUNNING THIS WEEK |
🥕 Canyon Country Farmers Market, Wednesday, Oct. 21, 4–8 p.m. This certified farmers market runs year-round, rain or shine, at the Canyon Country Community Center. It's back every Wednesday at the same time. Market info

TRUCK STORY: KAZUYO SUSHI, FROM THE CURB TO BOUQUET CANYON |
The pandemic-era sushi truck that grew into a Saugus restaurant |
Kazuyo Sushi by Chef Joe |

Every food truck owner dreams of this story. When indoor dining shut down in 2020, Santa Clarita residents Joe and Angelica Cubangbang launched Kazuyo, a Japanese sushi truck with Joe behind the knife. SCVNews found the truck parked on Auto Center Drive in Valencia that New Year's Eve, and reported lines of about 50 people in its first few days.
The truck had a local signature: deep-fried sushi rolls on sticks named after SCV landmarks, including the Magic Mountain Stick, the Central Park Stick and the Santa Clarita Stick. The couple also gave away a sushi platter to a family in need each week as a pay-it-forward project.
Today the business has a permanent home on Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus, open Wednesday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and closed Monday and Tuesday. It still caters, with a client list it says includes the Dallas Cowboys and CBS Studios.
Visit: 28112 Bouquet Canyon Rd., Santa Clarita. Call (661) 779-8594, or follow @kazuyo_sushi for specials. Kazuyo's website |

Look for the letter grade. In Santa Clarita and the unincorporated SCV communities like Castaic and Stevenson Ranch, food trucks are permitted and inspected by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. A legal truck should show its county permit sticker and a letter grade card. How LA County regulates food trucks
